#32 Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk

Mount Tamborine in Queensland, Australia would be the perfect weekend getaway.  There are so many great walks, wineries, shops and much more to keep you busy.  We drove up for the day and would love to go back!

The Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk is a self guided tour through a beautiful Australian rainforest situated on 30 acres of private land.  Basically this is Andrew’s worst nightmare as he hates heights!  The Skywalk track starts on a steel bridge aligning approximately halfway up the enormous trees.

The walkway leads out to a cantilever bridge at the highest point overlooking the trees and creeks.  Aubrey decided to lay down for a photo as a joke knowing how much her dad hates heights.  The bridge felt a bit shaky to me and while heights do not bother me, I will admit to being eager to move on.

The walkway continues down to the lower area to experience a close up of the trees from the roots up.  This angle offered a better portrayal of each tree’s height.

We climbed around on the rocks a bit before continuing the walk.

The tour is relaxing and at a leisurely pace can be completed in about 45 minutes.  This includes the many times we stopped for pictures.  The reception area has a nice cafe with outdoor seats facing the walkway.  We stopped for a cup of tea and glanced around the Rainforest Eco gallery before moving on with our day.
